Exploring unstable cations to develop new synthetic strategies in organic synthesis
These last years, the development of new chemical activation methods allowing the exploitation of highly unstable electrophilic species have been a field of active research and open up new synthetic prospects (Figure 1). However, the access to destabilized electrophiles is often very specific which limit their exploitation in organic synthesis. Our team has been interested for long years in the exploitation of destabilized electrophilic species in superacid media.
This project aims at developing a new synthetic strategy allowing the generation and exploitation of destabilized electrophiles through the combination of electrochemical activation and acid catalysis under batch and flow conditions.
